Welcome To The CRIP Web Site
Site updated on 5 September 2006.
CRIP is a six-year project funded by the Australian government through
the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), to assist
the government of Papua New Guinea reform education from Elementary Prep
to Grade 10.
The site contains information about the Project, school education reform
in PNG, policies, syllabuses, professional development materials, research
reports and links to other related education sites.
2006 is the last year of the Curriculum Reform Implementation Project. Some major changes have been implemented to prepare fort he handover of responsibilities to the Department of Education.
This update adds the revised primary inservice units to the site. Originally separate self-paced inservice units were developed for lower primary and for upper primary. However, following a review of the units with teachers it was decided to combine them into one set of primary inservice units. The new units can be found in both the Lower Primary Inservice Section and Upper Primary Inservice Section of the website.
The latest CRIP newsletter can be found in the CRIP News section.
PNG Curriculum Reform Conference
Papers from the 2005 Department of Education Curriculum Reform Conference have been added to the Web site The papers can be found in the Research and Evaluation Section of the site.
Vernacular Language Resources
Two very important resources have been added to the site - Vernacular Language Guide for Teachers and the Vernacular Language Trainers' Manual. Both resources can found and downloaded from the Elementary Resources Sub-section of the site.
HIV/AIDS Information
The recently released PNG Department of Education HIV/AIDS Policy has been added to the site in the Policy Section.
We have added to the Secondary Inservice Section some of the key material about HIV/AIDS which is presented by CRIP in all of its inservice activities. This is part of AusAID's strategy to mainstream HIV/AIDS awareness through all of its programs and projects. This is very useful material which could be used by teachers and inspectors in PNG.
