Distribution of Lower Primary Curriculum Materials

Contractors engaged by CRIP should have completed the delivery of lower primary curriculum and inservice materials to all primary and community schools. Materials for elementary schools were delivered either directly to the school or to the closest primary or community school. Schools which think they have not received the materials should contact their School Inspector or the Provincial Materials Supply Officer.

The Secondary Board of Studies has approved the new syllabuses. The syllabuses can be found in the Secondary Section of the web site.

Regional Implementation Support Advisers

Two important changes have been made to the operation of Regional Implementation Support Advisers (RISAs). First, because of their success, sixth RISA has been appointed. Mr Gabriel Marimyas, formerly the CRIP PNG Project Manager has been appointed as the sixth RISA. He will work in the Southern Region, Lae and and Bougainville.

The second important change is that the RISAs will now be managed by the Education Capacity Building Program (ECBP). This change has been made so that RISAs can work across education projects in PNG. They will continue to work with CRIP to support the implementation of the reform curriculum.

The RISAs and their locations are:

Christine Stores - Port Moresby

Gabriel Marimyas - Port Moresby

Sam Awaisa - Mt Hagen

Margaret Maru - Madang

Stuart Taylor - Kokopo

Ian Chaseling - Goroka
